Orange cake (no mixer)




Well, I found this recipes for cake without mixer by Ita kustina, I gave it a try, refreshing with orange, almond in it, next time I have to add more maizena / corn starch instead of 30 gr, I have to added 50 gr, because if not , it will be to runny the filling. I added a little milk to the filling, maybe next time I will do it without the milk, only orange juice.

This cake is so easy to make , you don't have to use a mixer. I only made 1/2 of the recipes.


Ingredients I :


1 cup ground almond

2 cup all purpose flour

1 tea spoon double acting baking powder


Method :

put all ingredients I in the bowl.


Ingredients II :


2 cup of sugar

375 gr butter or margarine

1 cup orange juice


Method:

Cook all the ingredients II with low heat until the butter and sugar melt. Careful don't burn it. Leave it to cool.


Ingredients III:

12 egg yolks

3 eggs white


Method:

Mix the egg with fork just until mix, leave it a side.


Method for all:

1. put all ingredients II into ingredients I, slowly , until mix

2.put the egg that all ready mix with fork into step no 1 (above)

3.Divided into 3 cake mold ( round 24 cm)

4.baked 180 C for around 30 minutes.


Orange filling:

300 cc orange juice

50 gr maizena

50 gr sugar

1 tablespoon butter


Method:

Cook all in the low heat until thick.

put the sauce in between the cake .

*I added 1 cup orange juice with rum essence , in the cake so every layer of the cakes is moist and you can taste the oranges flavor.

Gado-gado Cemara

I die of desire of Gado-gado Cemara, salad indonésienne. I found it
of the receipts from here, it is nice to eat this in summer
time.Ingredients:Cabbage (boiled him for 3 minutes and beans

Cake of raspberry moouse



This recipes for sure to keep, I tried this today , thanks to auntie Lucy , that is so nice want to share the recipes, I tweaked a bit, the cake different from she did. I get the recipes from here .


Ingredients for raspberry mousse:


50 ml. fresh milk


20 gm. instant custard


100 gm. raspberry puree - blend fresh raspberries


45 gm. sugar


130 gm. whipped cream


8 gm. gelatin + 40 gm. water (soak together)a little of lemon juice


1 Tbsp. Kirsch



Method For mousse:



-Put gelatin and water in a microwave bowl and microwave for about 25 secs.

-Mix instant custard with milk.

-Boil half of raspberry puree with sugar until sugar dissolved.Add melted gelatin in and mix thoroughly.

-Fold in the rest of raspberry puree and lemon juice and leave it to cool.

-Fold in whipped cream and kirsch slowly.

-Put in a slice of cake into cake ring, pure mousse filling and then cover it with another slice of cake. Leave to set in the fridge.

- Unmould cakes and decorate the top by piping some flowers with whipped cream.

- Serve chilled.

** Instead of raspberry, can use strawberries or blueberries.



Raspberry cake:

Ingredients:

150 ml raspberry puree

150 ml milk

75 ml oil

3 eggs

1 packages strawberry or raspberry jello

1 box of betty crocker cake mix or any other cake mix

mix according the cake mix box instructions.

_ Madeleines





I bought this mold from the states 2 weeks ago when I visited my uncle and aunt, I never try Madeleine's before, so I have searched for this recipes, well the taste almost like kueh cubit from the food vendor. Madeleine's are little cake like cookies that are baked in special molds that give them a delicate shell shape. This small cakes taste so nice because of the honey and the brown butter, I tweaked the recipes a bit , I added raisin and nuts, yummm........

Honey Madeleine's

Ingredients:

170g unsalted butter

4 large eggs

1/2 cup caster sugar
2 tbsp firmly packed brown sugar

1/4 cup full flavour honey (chestnut or any wildflower variety)

1.5 cup plain flour

2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt
*extra butter for greasing


Method:


Make brown butter by melting butter in a saucepan and cooking it until milk solids fall to the bottom and it turns rich hazelnut brown. Set aside and let it cool until room temperature.


In a large bowl beat eggs, caster sugar, brown sugar and honey until pale and foamy.


Sift flour, baking powder and salt and fold into the batter.
Fold in brown butter.Cover and leave in the fridge for at least 8 hours. (At this point I generally just stick it in the fridge and go to bed)

Preheat oven to 180deg and grease your Madeleine pans with melted butter
Fill in Madeleine pans about 1/2 or 3/4 full. Don't over fill or this will cause the batter to overflow during cooking and your Madeleine's will end up sticking together.

Bake in the oven for about 8 to 10mins until the bumps rise.

Remove from oven and let cool for about 5mins before removing them from the pan and repeating the process with the remaining batter.Here's a chocolate variation of the above.

_ Bacang




I made bacang again yesterday, thanks to my aunt I can do it now, it isn't perfect yet like her though.
Some of the reader from my blog asked me about the video of it, since I am having problem to download , you all can check this side, the video of making bacang from here very good and clear,
I put whole bird eyed chillies ( cabe rawit ) inside each bacang.

Ingredients:
1 kg glutinous rice ( soak in water for 2 hours)
2 1/2 pounds ground meat
6 dry shitake mushroom
10 shallots
6 clove of garlics
10 spring onions
10 spoon sweet black soya sauce
2 spoon light soya sauce
pepper, salt and sugar
bird eyes chili ( whole)
Method:
1.add the oil into the wok, put 3 cloves of garlic, cook until fragrant, add the soak glutinous rice after you drain the water, add light soya sauce, salt, stir until mix, but still raw, take out from the wok
2. add the oil stir shallot, garlic, meat, ground meat, sweet soya sauce, light soya sauce,pepper, salt, sugar, spring onions until caramelized and done ( this for the filling inside it)

tedious eating the cake, thus I made the cake of
this.Ingredients:leftover (powder of powderhorlick of it)cocoa of
crumb (the optional)sweet condensed the milkinstant rice of
essencechocolate of coffeenutsraisinrum for sprinkle on the
topMethod:Mix all the ingredients together, form them like the small
ball 1 1/2 centimetre, sprinkle the rice chocolate on the top or,
powder of cocoa on the top, freeze it until the unit.

Hummingbird

I am so happy to see a hummingbird behind my house of the aunt and the
uncle, but it is not easy to take the photograph, because the
hummingbird is so tiny (2/3 centimetre), and the wings move very fast
as quickly as flickering you your eyes. This image that I threw the

We went to Michigan and stay at my house of the uncle and the aunt,
they have a house of beautifull, there is a small forest on their back
of the house, you can see deers, and the kind different of bird such
as the bird of whirr, the cardinal (red color of bird), owl, finch
(yellow color). green woodpecker, rabbit, squirel etc. of chipmunk. We
asked to my aunt to teach us that how to make the bacang, it is thus
patience to teach us. I will announced it video how to make it, after
I can appeared it out of how in announced him. I need a certain
